Hello!

I have a BTC BDV316E DVD-ROM drive. I can read any DVD or CD but not DVD movies.

In System Profiler, under ATA, I can see all the info regarding the DVD movie inside my drive but it doesn't mount. Neither using Terminal with diskutil mountDisk.

It appears to be the Paragon NTFS 6.5 with some Apple Security Update...

Any idea?

Thanks!!

I have the same problem and have been trying everything with no luck.

I have switched around the jumpers on the DVD drive and tried different cables.

I have tried VLC

I have tried different DVD drives that were all different brands.

I have tried an external USB DVD drive.

I have a video card that DOES have QE/CI enabled.

I have tried installing different distros, 10.4.8 jas, 10.5.5 iatkos and 10.5.6 iPC and even upgraded the 10.5.6 to 10.5.8.

I have tried out the following kexts, IODVDstoragefamily, JmicronATA, AppleVIAATA, and AppleNforce.

The computer is a Dell Dimension 4400 with an Nvidia FX5200 video card.
