sircastor
Hi folks, I'm trying to do a Retail install via Boot 132 and Chameleon on an intel D945GCLF (This is a very popular mini-ITX board). Most everything works so far, but my major stumbling block has been the ethernet. The port doesn't show up at all in the Networking pref panel. I have so far tried a few of the ethernet kexts out there. The chipset on the board is the R8169. There's a homebrew one called the RT1000 which shows the port, but it won't talk to anything. and then two that I pulled from the Kalyway 10.5.2 installer, neither of which work unfortunately. with the latter two, the network pref pane hangs after being selected and then auto fails with a message to report to Apple. I hope this is enough information. Has anyone had success with this? Unfortuantely, the sister board (D945GCLF2) has a different chipset and doesn't apply here. Any ideas or help? I am definitely a noob here, so any additional reading recommendations I'm also open too. thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/141839-network-hanging-with-realtek-8169d945gclf/ Share on other sites
sircastor
FYI for anyone trying this: I installed RealTek's driver for this chipset, and setup the network manually. No luck on DHCP, but this works, so I'm okay with it. DoctorEvil30564
Hey thanks for the info, I just finished building my Hackintosh system and the info about the homebrew rtl1000 kext helped me to get my system fully working. I used the same Intel D945GCLF motherboard using a boot-132 iso for the D945GCLF2 motherboard I was able to get everything else working, video works great. I used the other efi method, for some reason I couldn't get chameleon to work. system just finished downloading all of the updates from apple and it didn't kill it so I'm quite happy at the moment.
