The searches I've done have come up with few, if any concrete answers. Has anyone managed to do this successfully? It would appear a number of people (thanks to RaidenII, it would appear) have managed to get the DV5T working with a 9600M but I haven't seen anything regarding the 9200M and whether it is also compatible.

Similarly, I haven't seen whether it's possible to even do the INSTALL on a DV4T, which I would have thought were similar, component-wise, let alone anyone doing it with a 9200M.

While I realize one option is to upgrade to the 9600M, I ask because I've seen a good deal for a DV5T and a DV4T, slightly used, but only with the 9200M

If anyone could shed some light, quickly, I would appreciate it!

Thanks,

Kevin

kevin,

yeah the 9200m IS supported on this laptop! i'm currently running vista but vista is just sh*t and i can't stand it any longer...

if you haven't forgot about this thread and/or need help, i can assist you with it. i customized this laptop with the broadcom wifi so I'm fortunate (but I did my homework before I made the purchase regarding the unsupported intel wifi). i had the webcam + mic, wifi, video, and sort of had the audio going but it hissed and popped from time to time so that was pretty annoying. it was about 90 or 95 percent complete but the minor things that i couldn't get going were the touchbar across the top (but i doubt that'll ever work), the card reader, and the scroll bar on the touchpad.

bear with me, and in a week or so, i'll be wiping this machine and reinstalling with the boot 132 method (vanilla kernel). i can't stand the prefab distros.

Is there anything special to get the 9200m working? I have a samsung but unable to get QE/CI fully working. I get a blank scree on the internal display unless I remove the NVDES(?).kest file.
