Hi,

after installing iATKOS 4a (10.5.4) I can't boot. I always get "IOPCCardBridge : start failed". I know its caused by my PCMCIA device, but i can't disable it in BIOS (and i cant remove it (Laptop)). I found this guide CardBus/PCMCIA Driver Leopard

but I 1. dont know how to install a *.kext and 2. I dont get to a terminal.

Does anyone know what to do?

(Sorry, my english isnt that good, im 15 and from Germany ;) )

To install a kext use Kext Helper b7 or OSx86Tools......

To get to a Terminal......boot from install DVD and go to Disk Utility......and from OS X on HDD go Applications/Utilities....... :D

Ok but when I boot from DVD can I install Kext helper and then a kext file?

And can I install the kext file from the running DVD to my installed OS X?

I never used OS X and I dont know if installing of the driver really helps =/

Kext Helper and OSx86Tools run from within OS X......what happens when you boot with -v -x?

If you mean starting the dvd with -v -x the installer just starts after the verbose boot.

If you mean my installed MAc OSX than it stopps at

IOPCCardBridge : start failed
RTL8139::fixEnetFlowControl - Flow Control is disabled

I formatted my pen drive to HFS and copied the kext helper and the driver on it.

Again: is it possible to boot the setup dvd, install the kext helper.app with terminal and RUN it immediately on the live system from the dvd???

In the topic CardBus/PCMCIA Driver they say i have to install the kext file. (BUT IS THAT POSSIBLE WITHOUT A WORKING INSTALLED SYSTEM ?)

I have to boot from a Linux live-cd everytime I try something and that takes some time, so I need to get as much as possible informations before.
