shodanjr_gr
Heya guys, here is my configuration: AMD Venice Core A64 3200+ ASRock Dual SATA Mobo for AMD processors. One 20 gig hard disk set as master on primary IDE channel One Nec ND 4500 DVD-RW set as master on secondary IDE channel Soundblaster Live Audigy Radeon X800 Pro Graphics Here is what ive done so far. I tried installing using the markblan (spelling?) image (which i do understand is a bit out of date but anywayz). My first attemp was to install by booting of the DVD-R drive connected to my mobo. All these attempts failed and the verbose boot always brought up the "Still waiting for Root Device" error message. I tried various IDE channel device configurations (setting my DVD as master on IDE0 etc etc) but to no avail. So i try to boot the image off an external DVD-R drive (more like an internal dvd-r on a IDE-USB2.0 converter) and it doesnt give me the aforementioned error message. But, once it gets into the installation, all i get is a blue screen with the volleyball icon swirling around and with no dvd activity whatsoever. Its been like that for about 1 hour and hasnt nudged so im pretty sure something is broken. Any ideas for a fix are most welcome Thanks in advance all!!!
