AC97 nForce4 master channel greyed out

I installed iDeneb v1.3 with AMD patch successfully. Everything worked except the audio. I noticed that I don't have control over the "M" channel. Could this be the problem? It's the onboard realtek alc850, and from my research, this chip SHOULD be working. Although the driver was loaded by default, I followed this http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Audio and I know the device ID and driver is being loaded properly, but still no output!
