kee-quattro
You think it would be best to try a Vanilla install, just have no idea how to do a Vanilla install. Looks like during startup it's not finding my HD, when I boot using ideneb DVD the image appears fine. Is it the bios of my motherboard? kee-quattro
Managed to sort of get it working but only in safe mode so does this mean a problem with the drivers or motherboard? Any ideas? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140821-ideneb-v13-1055-startup-issues/#findComment-997775 Share on other sites
ShortStop
You need to provide more details. Which drivers did you install? Which kernel? The fact that you can get it to boot in safe mode indicates a driver issue. Getting through the installation OK doesn't make it a successful install unless it boots and everything works like it's supposed to. It's only when you reboot after completing installation that the installed drivers gets loaded. kee-quattro
All the information I have is it's ideneb version 1.3 (10.5.5) I hoped that all the drivers needed would be on the ideneb dvd. I have been reading like crazy online still can't find a definitive answer, hence the reason I asked wether a vanilla install would show all 4 cores and the correct memory on my graphics card; don't know if CHUD would be a good idea. The other thing I am thinking is how do you install chameleon on to the hard drive perhaps this is the reason it doesn't find the HD during booting and will only work in safe mode? kee-quattro
Just got to get all four cores working it was the drivers for the graphics card preventing proper startup. I'll search the forum for CHUD related information. Or if anyone knows please help..... ShortStop
You can download the latest version of the Chameleon installer at chameleon.osx86.hu. There's also the Voodoo kernel you could try. Works great for me on iDeneb 10.5.5. Find all relevant info here. Which graphics driver did you install? (NVInject, NVKush........) jacoweb
You need to set to ACHI in bios, on the sata. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140821-ideneb-v13-1055-startup-issues/#findComment-998344 Share on other sites
kee-quattro
Used NVInject and machine is set to ACHI in bios all works. The only issues I have now is the computer hangs sometimes and won't allow me to delete large files from trash again just hangs. Still would like a perfect install, is Vanilla any better as i don't want to waste $129+taxes on a retail copy of OS X if it's no better than ideneb v1.3 10.5.5?
