palamosteliaro
Hi to everyone! I am trying to install osx86 on my pc, but i just cant do it! When using, 1. Leopard DVD's, the installation stucks early at apple logo screen, before even loading the installer. Booting with -v, hangs the installation early again. 2. Tiger DVD's, pc restarts while loading installation. I have also tried a leopard flat image i have used on older pc's and worked then, but not now. I get the "macs screen of death" which says that i have to restart my computer. I have tried to do it by disconnecting all usb/firewire devices and HDDs but no luck yet. I am pretty sure that its about hardware incompatibility but i can find where excacly is the problem. Here is the detailed system configuration: MSI X58 PLATINUM MotherBoard INTEL CORE I7-920 2.66 GHZ CORSAIR XMS3 DHX DDR3 4GB (2X2GB) PC3-12800 (1600MHZ) WESTERN DIGITAL RAPTOR WD740ADFD 74GB 10000RPM SATA WESTERN DIGITAL 500GB WD5000AAJS CAVIAR SE SATA2 GAINWARD 9047 BLISS 9800 GX2 1GB PCI-E SONY OPTIARC AD-7200A I read on insanely mac that its possible to install osx86 on intel core i7 based system with no problem. What am I missing? Thanks in advance guys! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140751-problem-with-osx86-installation/ Share on other sites
Pat Rho
What version of leopard dvd installation disk are you using? what error are you getting when booting the disk with -v option? such as "still waiting for root device" or kernel panic at early stage? let us know exactly what errors you're getting so we can help you. After that I can help you with graphics card QE/CI. pat Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140751-problem-with-osx86-installation/#findComment-997147 Share on other sites

All the leopard releases crush(?) at the setup and give the same last message when using "-v" command. MAC framework successfully initialized using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers Extension "com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components; use only one style. Is that an actual error? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140751-problem-with-osx86-installation/#findComment-997599 Share on other sites
palamosteliaro
ok i made some progress alone. I tried the ideneb 1.3 (10.5.5) and it installed succesfully with no problems. However when it comes time to boot for the first time it crashes immediatelly. Tried with no other hdds. usb/firewire devices/ cd rom. Nothing changes. Tried to boot with -v, -s, -f, -x cpu=1 nothing again. Any suggestions? juunbug
to the best of my knowledge, the new I7 chip and boards won't have much success. Give it some time and perhaps you will have better luck. Nice rig BTW : ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140751-problem-with-osx86-installation/#findComment-998318 Share on other sites
