attnck
I've seen guides that continue to mention you can't see your NTFS drives in OSX so they recommend creating a FAT32 Swap Drive. Honestly have you even tried? Proof it works below Now, what's all this about OSX not supporting NTFS drives? Lanceomni
OSX can natively read NTFS but can't write to it. There are a few options. Software from Paragon the NTFS-3G Drivers: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/24481/ntfs-3g. I have not personally these but I have had a friend who purchased the Paragon software and found it a bit sluggish. From what Ive read about the NTFS-3G drivers its the same. I have several drives on my machine and use one of them as a 80GB Fat32 share. I still can pull files from my NTFS drive but since I don't really do this that often software or drivers dont really make too much sense to me. In addition I assume that If OSX could write to NTFS it would flood the drive with all those nasty "."hidden files. As for not being able to see an NTFS driver in OSX. Some people have said that the volume is mildly currupted and that: 1. Booting into XP and then back into OSX or 2. Booting into XP and changing the NTFS volume's name and booting back into OSX Fixes the problem. Liquidx@mac
i've been using paragon ntfs on both of my hackintosh for months without much problems. yeah the transfer speed is abit slower compared to HFS, but put it mind that it is 3rd party software driven support, so it is very acceptable. fat32 seems to be a good alternative, but the size of the files are limited to 4 gb only, which kinda sucks for todays data size requirement. and to the question that osx did not support ntfs; does ms support hfs natively after all? no, it requires 3rd party software as well Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140713-support-for-ntfs-hard-drives-in-osx/#findComment-997434 Share on other sites
