Dell M1330, iatkos 5.5 installed somewhat successfull. The install paused after installation on first boot but when I switched to -x saftemode the installation finished and the desktop loaded. After reboot, the same thing happens begins load screen apple and spinner than freeze. If I reboot and pick safemode it goes all the way through quickly and works well.

If I pick -v, the first time it went to mDNSResponder - starting and that was it, so I disabled it. I rebooted and now it goes past this but still pauses at what appears to be user data because it shows my system name and /usr/sbin/ocspd/[71]: starting

Thats as far as it goes. Safe mode works fine.

Is there a utility or log that could point me to what device or file is stalling the regular mode boot up? I'm still a hackntosh noob so still figuring it out.

iAtkos 5.1 installs very well with no issues but I was interested in some of the newer install packages in this group and they are not available for any version lower than 5.2 so I upgraded to 5.5.

had the exact same thing happen to me

boot in safe mode, then run the dell laptop post installer 1.3

select the battery, speed step, dual core kernel, video drivers, smbios if you already havent DO NOT SELECT Lid SLEEP..run the install reboot and bam you should be in business!

be sure to fix permissions via osx86 tools, enable QuartzGL and Extreme and all that good stuff!

enjoy
