Hi, I'm a newby with OSx86 so go easy on me... I've searched the forums but could not find a suitable answer to my questions.

I'm running Kalyway 10.5.2 with the Chameleon JMicron fix on an Asus P5K mobo. The install went quite smoothly and all I needed to patch was the network and video. The system has been running for over a week with no problems at all. :(

My current CPU is a Pentium D 3.2 and I want to upgrade to a faster chip and also increase my ram from 2 GB to 8 GB. (My mobo can support up to 8GB according to the manual)

My main question is will I need to reinstall OS X, or will it detect the change in CPU and RAM automatically on bootup?

Will OS X recognize 8GB RAM, or cut off at 4GB? Not sure if this is a 64bit OS or not but I know real Mac Pros can have up to 32 gigs.

Thanks for any help/advice/tips. I haven't found much on the P5K, but from my experience it's been pretty solid.

Cheers,

Rob
