kai_rei
Heya guys! First time trying Mac OSX out and unfortunately I've already had a few issues; so far to date, things have been really good. Currently I am trio-booting Acer Aspire 8920G using GRUB as the boot-loader (modified, of course) and can successfully boot all three OS's (Vista, Ubuntu, OSX), however.. The problem I am having is on OSX where when I boot it, it loads fine, gets to the set up screen and no more, After saying "welcome" in about 90 languages (the flash intro) it just seems to keep looping it, I was wondering if there was a fix? I can certainly reinstall OSX if that is needed, I am new to this, so please have patience when dealing with me? ^^ I will try my best! Again, thanks for your time and appreciate any help.. PS scanned the forums a bit, and found nothing That's why I am trying a new post! Furthermore, the OSX distro I have installed is: Kaloway: 10.5.2 It brings me to the final screen of the registration window; "Do you already own a mac?" and after selecting "Do not transfer my information now" I hit "continue", after waiting a small amount of time, it loops the welcome screen again, then right after that, it goes back to the registration window...so on, so forth. rm -r -f ./AppleIntelGMAX*.* (press enter) (removes GMAX drivers which i didnt need) mv ./AppleIntel*.* / (press enter) reboot (press enter) mv ./appleintel*.* / shows no file found ;( Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140549-welcome-screen-and-no-more/ Share on other sites

Run single user mode using the -s flag while booting i.e. type -s at the "boot:" prompt and wait for the prompt ":/ root#" to appear, type each of the following lines, followed by Enter and then waiting for ":/ root#" to re-appear. 2. Mount the file system by typing "mount -uw /" (without quotes) at the ":/ root#" prompt. 3. Change the root password by typing "passwd root" at the ":/ root#" prompt and then typing in a new root password and retyping it again as requested. 4. Create the .AppleSetupDone file by typing "touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone" (without quotes) at the ":/ root#" prompt 5. Boot the system by typing "exit" (without quotes) at the ":/ root#" prompt. 6. Reboot from HDD with "-v -f" and the OS X Login screen is presented; enter "root" as Name and for Password, the root password chosen previously, and the system logs you in as System Administrator. Any thoughts on getting internet working on the MAC distro based on previously mentioned laptop specs?
