Hello, this is my first post, but not my first time experimenting with OSx86.

Here are some basics on this creature.

Celeron M 520 1.6GHz

1.5Gb RAM

80GB HDD

Vista Home Basic was its default. Has been running GNU/Linux Debian Sid up till now.

Decided to give osX86 a try with the XxX 10.5.5 Beta1 w/PPF1

Installing just straight through went perfectly fine, till it alas... came time to reboot. (Just as I was enjoying that Mac smell)

Boots fine, till the silver apple loading screen goes away and then... BSoD (j/k) mac style comes on . Anyways, I remember being able to customize the last time I installed this on my Toshiba, but I seemed to have missed that. Is there a way to fix this... or does any one have any tips for "perhaps" installing this on a C552US... or is hoping it to run on a Celeron asking way too much?

I see posts everywhere about recommended processors all across google, but not really a list of processors to stray away from.

Edit: Link to full specs :rolleyes:http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/hp-compaq-...?tag=mncol;psum

Working now... but wireless is not functional. Everything seems to be operational. Perchance there is a similar function in OS X to get hardware information similar to 'lshw -html >> info.html' ?

I For THE Life of me cannot figure out how to get the wireless button to work, as I don't know what drivers I'm lacking let alone which exact card... HP isn't very helpful. I could always -try- sticking my 4965 in it =/ but my comPAQ only has two wires as opposed to three... any information?

'sudo -s' 'hostname -s name' worked but reset it self after restart?!??

Installed PCIUtils lspci wootness, anywhom... herewego 06.00.0 Network controller Broadcom Corporation BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI (rev 01)

Ok... now here's the dealiyo I installed again trying different drivers... this time the mini-PCI doesn't show up... -at- all no broadcom is "technically" installed...

Now the install disc also hangs at the bootup process and black screens before any info is displayed and the power light flashes

I chose to install the conexant sound driver, Broadcom wireless driver (not working), Voodoo Kernel, TOH will work though until you can get online with it wired... I also installed Speedstep and basic power management

OH YeAH, no luck with wireless by the way on my end... so if you have this model, pick yourself up an external linksys or something
