super unknown
I'm at my wits end with ALC1200 audio install on iDeneb 10.5.5. I've read just about every thread I could google, installed gigazillion kexts, from azalia to apple HDA to HDA Inject, even tried messing around with EFI strings and still can't get it going. Not even a basic stereo, never mind Hi Def. Here is the hardware involved in the setup: Mobo: ASUS P5Q with Intel Duo Core 2 CPU @2.4Ghz, 2GB RAM @ 1066 Audio: Integrated ALC1200 LAN: One of the realtek cards working out of the box Video: ATI Radeon 2600XT HD I have a couple of questions, if anyone knows the answer: 1) Do you think the fact that video card has audio onboard is messing with ALC1200? I tried installing what worked for other people on this mobo and other P5Q board and nothing works. The only significant difference is that I have ATI HD video card, others didn't. 2) If I tried installing other distros than iDeneb, would audio possibly work? Is there a difference? I'm just about to give up and turn to the dark side and install XP. I no longer have time to waste. Thanks in advance.
