i read that it has to be formated into FAT32 or Shag OS Swap from windows. i used Acronis Disk Suite, first formated HDD into FAT32, tried to run setup from DVD, on the left side of disk utility is only DVD, none of a hard drives. acronis disk suite don't have Shag OS Swap file system, nither Apple HFS+. it only has: NTFS, FAT32, FAT16, Ext2, Ext3, RaiserFS, Linux Swap. and i've got version 10 of acronis disk suite.

so how do i format my HDD from windows for the setup?

i've got windows on one HDD, and i've got separate HDD for mac. now it has 3 partitions on it, all for mac, and they're all FAT32. will i be able to start windows and mac just by selecting (F8) appropriate HDD? or do i need OS selector..?

... both HDDs are SATA

ok, i've tried MacDrive 7 just now... testing.

ok, i did formated HDD into mac's file system. the problem is with my BIOS settings. if anyone know how to tweak BIOS on P4M900T-M2 motherboard, please help here.

I had the same problem. What's your system specs maybe i can help you out.

I have an ASUS p5qc

Core 2 Quad Q6600

4 Gig Ram DDR2 1333

ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB

On my motherboard i has to put all of my sata drives on in the red slots and not on the orange or white one. for some reason, OSX wont detect it unless there in the red slots. If your DVD is SATA you just have to put it in the same area ( in my case the red slots ) and you should detect it.

Also check your bios settings make sure you put your Drive in AHCI mode and not IDE or anything else. That worked for me. Hope I could help you out.

my specs:

mobo: P4M900T-M2

pros: Pentium 4 3Ghz (SSE3)

2Gb DDR2

there are only 2 red slots for SATA HDDs. i'll try what u sugested, let you know in few minutes

ps: i worry about my BIOS, many settings that i've seen on screenshots are not there...

It could be very possible. I have heard of some MB that don't work with osx86 but usually i dont even think that it would get you to the installation area... That's whats confusing about your issue. i really dont know! Have a quick look around the site or google to check if your Mobo is actually compatible.
