mrsuicide
This is a known issue. VMware networking ( emulated AMD PCNET ) doesn't work right with Leopard as guest. If the networking connection is connected in VMware before VM start, you can't get a network address, it always says the cable is unplugged. If the networking connection is disconnected in VMWare at VM start and you connect it while Leopard runs, the system freezes when you activate the connection in Network Settings while getting a DHCP address. Workaround: 1. Set the network connection to disconnected at startup in VMWare 2. Start Leopard 3. Go to Network Settings, the Ethernet adapter should be in "Disabled" state 4. Activate the network adapter and click on the button "Apply" 5. Exit the VM immeadetly and connect the adapter in VMware 6. If everything goes right Leopard still says the connection is unplugged but you will have a DHCP address and can use the connection It is important that you connect the adapter in VMware while Leopard is activating the connection. If you do it before, the system freezes. If you do it after it you won't get a DHCP address. Greetings, mrsuicide!
