Hi,

well I was really in a bad mode when i bought the Broadcom 4311 Mini-PCI Wlan Card. The card showed up as an Airport OOB. But I wasn't able to activate the card. Clicking the Button "Turn Airport ON" didn't do anything at all.

Then for 10 minutes I jumped through my room because my card seemed to work perfectly after updating my iDeneb system to 10.5.5! I was surfing through the Internet without a cable and downloaded the Software Updates, rebootet and again my WLAN doesn't want to wake up.

But now i know that my card is working with the right configuration. But what do I have to configure?

My Card in the System Profiler:

AirPort:

Type: AirPort

Hardware: AirPort

BSD Device Name: en1

IPv4:

Configuration Method: DHCP

IPv6:

Configuration Method: Automatic

Proxies:

Exceptions List: *.local, 169.254/16

FTP Passive Mode: Yes

Ethernet:

MAC Address: 00:15:f2:00:00:00

Media Options:

Media Subtype: Auto Select

Has anybody expierence with this kind of Problem? I already read through those threads:

no luck ;)

I thought it had something to do with my wlan hardware switch. But now i know that it is possible to use the card without the support of the hardware switch. But the thing is, I don't want to reinstall the my system for using the wlan till the next shutdown.

I will post if there are any updates on this. Thanks for your help!

----UPDATE----

I tried an sudo ifconfig en1 up. That what i get after this command:

inet 192.168.1.91 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255

ether 00:16:d3:87:ed:53

media: autoselect (100baseTX <half-duplex>) status: active

en1: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500

ether 00:15:f2:00:00:00
