I installed the drivers from http://iwidarwin.googlecode.com. Problem is, I can't get the kext to load:

localhost:Extensions root# kextload -t iwi2200.kext

kextload: extension iwi2200.kext appears to be loadable

kextload: loaded version 1.6.0 of module com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily differs from requested version 1.6.0 (UUIDs differ)

kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension iwi2200.kext

link/load failed for extension iwi2200.kext

(run kextload with -t for diagnostic output)

I tried following this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/i...hp/t103999.html

# chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/iwi2200.kext

# chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/iwi2200.kext

# touch /System/Library/Extensions

Now a dialog pops up saying System extension cannot be used. The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/iwi2200.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update.

I have an Intel 2200BG running on a Thinkpad T42p. This is using 10.5.5 beta1 PPF2.

I tried with both the stable and dev drivers (do I need to remove stable before installing dev, or will the installer do the right thing?):

  • PROSet/Wireless 2200b/g and 2915a/b/g OS X 10.5. rev 1195 Installer
  • PROSet/Wireless 2200b/g and 2915a/b/g OS X 10.5 SVN latest

How can I get this kext to load? Thanks.
