shadow_keeper
Hi guys, Finally got the install GUI to work using iDeneb v3 10.5.5, when Kalyway and Leo4all were not booting up the install GUI, just freezing up. Installation was successful and I now have a working Mac x86 on my new 17" AMD x2 laptop, dual booting with Vista x64. Issues afterwards are : 1) Standard video 1024x768 since I didn't see ATI HD3200 on the install list to choose. I want 1440x900 ?? 2) No audio (this really sucks), no IDT driver to choose during install ?? 3) No wireless network even though I chose the Atheros driver during install ?? 4) No firewire ports detected even though I have one ?? Any simple fixes for these? I hope someone knows, as I've noticed a lot of people can post good questions on here with no replies unfortunately. Thanks in advance... motheius
Hi, glad to hear that it kinda installs with iDenbe. I would say that if you don't have etherent, decent video resolution, audio and potentially firewire, then this really isn't a workable system. Sad because it's a slick laptop and a really good price. Have you pursued any of the non-workables? iisevenii
I have the same laptop, can get iDeneb to get to the install screen but always fails the dvd check, and if skipped just fails eventually. Mind if i ask what software you used to burn the image? update: Got iDeneb to install finally, used the disk utility to copy the cd onto a small partition I made using the restore function. I ended up going w/Kalyway 10.5.2, which wouldn't even boot before, but got it to install fine using the same method. So far all I have been able to get to work is the Ethernet, still trying to get the audio and wireless going, and praying someone makes a driver for the ati 3200 HD.
