mdev Posted December 7, 2008 Share Posted December 7, 2008 Hey Got my Inspiron 1720 working with iATKOS 5, I did a backup in Time Machine, If I click on Backup now or something that opens the GUI of Time Machine ( space screen ) it opens two Finder windows instead and freezes but if I continuously click on X on a window it closes after time. Martynguk2002 Posted December 7, 2008 Share Posted December 7, 2008 Hey I have had the same problem and found that it was related to graphics capabilities. I downloaded the apple graphics update and got time machine to work (and front row). check in system profiler under graphics/displays and see if Quartz Extreme is supported, if not that MIGHT be your problem too and the graphics update from apple might help. HOWEVER on my machine that uses x3100 graphics installing that update means that my machine won't boot every time, more times than not i get a blue screen with a black line down the middle after the while apple screen, if i keep resetting it will boot eventually but really annoying after a while.
