evga nForce 790i SLI FTW with some bios changing options in it I got it too boot off of kalyway , but their seems to be some bugs, it will get past

root device error but keyboard bug remains so far

Kalyway-10.5.2

is their a easy way to post bios settings? from windows ?

ok once I find a way to post my current settings I post it here , I need to find a way to fix that keyboard bug, I know its a bios setting I think since I did fix it once where it would type in the mac os x without a ps/2 patch I think ??

note that only the macokernel runs on install, the nforce one fails with a root device error but default kernel on kalyway will boot

the following needs to be on

ieee 1394 controller enabled

Jmicron ahci (sata 7/8) enabled

Jmicron AHCI (sata 9/10) enabled

hd audio auto

onboard fdc controller enabled

under integrated peripherals are those settings and they do seem to effect the root device error dvd problem, if I turn on of those off it comes back with that waiting for root device . so I sumed it down to these things causing the problem

here a bios template

I fill in this temp later on

I would enable CPU Thermal Control to protect your CPU......

Get a USB keyboard and mouse it will cause you far fewer problems than a PS/2 keyboard and mouse...... :(

I use a usb mouse already one of the sidewider microsoft mouse and it works with this os, but the keyboard bug is annoying, I read their a fix for it , I think itkos 5i has the keyboard fix, I think thou that I was able to use this other one from the hd install , without the keyboard error, so maybe theirs a way to fix this without that problem it may just be in kalyway version has the bug only I think the other newer ones have a fix for it already

also note I did not yet update the bios template it does, not have settings I am using under the bios yet

A mix of PS/2 keyboard and USB mouse or vice versa is not a good combination as regards a working OS X system.......

are you saying that the usb mouse causes the keyboard to not be used , etc.. a ps/2 mouse with this keyboard would work if only I don't use my usb mouse?

also that root device error seems almost random since it is not detecting the dvd drive again for the install , I tryed that patch for nforce for kalyway 10.5.2 to get ride of the bug it seems to work since, but again I have not install it yet so I can't say ever thing will work I wanted to fix the keyboard problem before installing it , because seem to do some console stuff to get the linksys wireless working ,and need keyboard for wpa2 connection stuff too

but in any case even if I get wireless and sound working, the 3D card will not work for a long time, until they get drivers for the bfg gefore 280 type cards 1gb etc..

plus I need to dual boot between windows and this on the same hard drive, only have one hd in this computer

USB/PS2 combo.....no good

PS/2.......causes problems

USB.......generally no problems

For the low cost of a wired USB keyboard and USB mouse it is in IMHO not worth the hassle messing about with PS/2......wastes time.....

You can run in VESA mode, i.e. with no video card driver installed....

For dual booting first try EasyBCD in Vista.....or chain0 or tboot in XP......
