So i have a dual boot with Vista and OS X set up on my HP Laptop dv6000. obviously the wireless card doesn't work in OS X, but what also doesn't work are the front audio jacks for headphones or speakers or a mic. the speakers physically on the laptop work but not the front jacks themselves. Is there a driver that would makes these work? i have conexent audio drivers. thanks.

Papi Chulo (means I've had the same problem sometime back). Did you notice these stinking Laptops (infact most of them) has a macrovision chip which does not allow copying things easily? :D

i have the same laptop and the same problem .. but i was looking for a way to fix it . couple of weaks back i found a post about how to make the IDT sound card to work. and they had posted appleHDA.kext which you can modify with an instruction on how to modifay it and put ur device id in it.

i thought that might help . so i followed the steps . by only installing that appleHDA , i got the system to recognize the sound card better. cus before in the information . i used to get only Apple HD soundcard and nothing else and the sound works. but after i installed that appleHDA i got more information recognized by leopard. now it tells me there is to jacks in the front and it tells me that i have microphon built in.

so i think if someone can play more with appleHDA eventually he can get it work .

good luck all.
