neasteflorin
the Tux Geek blog is building a Hackintosh with contributions from its readers and then giving it away. Pretty nice idea, hope he gets to build it by Dec 20. tuxgeek.me/2008/11/hackintosh-pc-the-tux-geek-christmas-giveaway/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139737-guy-is-giving-away-a-hackintosh/ Share on other sites
neasteflorin
By the way, has anyone managed to get the Atheros 5007EG 802.11b/g WiFi card working. Or Quartz acceleration for the ATi Xpress 200M chipset? It's just not usable without being able to play videos or animations. gprince
I had a laptop with ati X200m and there is no way to get the acceleration as the developpers say it is to different from the other cards. neasteflorin
It would have sounded too much like an advertisement, which was not the idea of the post. I wanted to support all the cost of the build, and that would have helped the popularity a lot, but we're cash strapped with all the hosting costs, authors and design/coding. And I'm only working part time for makeuseof, during the day I have to go to school - which greatly limits my time and therefore my income from articles posted there. How about the hardware specs, anyone got a better list in this price range? Or maybe something cheaper in the 300$ range. It's more likely we could gather that by December 20th.
