robert_intel
well i was able to get past the root device error by using the toh kernel which iAtkos 5i has in 10.5.5 ver but you need to make changes in the bios to get keyboard to work and to stop the lockup problem in the install i am still playing with the bios settings also this one is not as error free as the other one seems to be but the other one does not have toh kernel in it yet I did get the keyboard working by changing a setting in bios, but I am not sure which setting I did change to do so, yet I post it if I fingure that out again, I think its under the power settings area but I could be wrong not sure why it was locking up but I think that too should be changeable under the bios settings but again could be wrong about that, but so far toh is the only kernel that goes into the install right off of the dvd, no waitng for root device error with this dvd but 10.5.2 gets the error since it has no toh kernel, this system seems to boot the installer with that one and not the nforce kernel why?? (also note Jas tiger 10.4.6, on booting up darwin for this one it just hard reboots after a few min..) Leopard hd install helper v0.3 - this method almost works , but desktop has the following error , no keyboard works , no keys etc, no typeing able, randomly gets root device error, tryed -f -v -x etc,, a few times, also it gets into installer but no keyboard , the mouse works , and on install with 12 minutes few it freazes the os up, tryed with Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd image, nforcekernel gets root device error by default , also note dvd gets root device error by default too , thats why I tryed hd installer method , it almost works, will try with newer 10.5.5 later on and see if any of these bugs are gone with this motherboard with a usb mouse , and normal keyboard hp type hewlett packard keyboard evga nForce 790i SLI FTW * NVIDIA nForce 790i SLI Chipset * Supports Intel Core 2 Extreme, Intel Core 2 Quad, Intel Core 2 Duo, Pentium EE, and Pentium processors * Dual Channel DDR3 * 800/1066/1333/1600 Mhz FSB have a LG DVD-RW drive one sata 500 GB drive one usb iomega 1TB drive one BFG nvidia gtx 280 3d card 1GB size card one pentium Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.50Ghz and 8GB of Ram memory , like the max for motherboard I don't use the buildin network card, I use a wireless linksys G card for net access with it Wireless-G PCI Adapter with SpeedBooster , WMP54GS version 1.0 need a driver for this, and sound card a realtek hd model card build into this motherboard I read that 3d card does not yet have a driver for bfg nvidia gtx 280 card model type right , but normal mode should work right if I can get any os x to boot into install right?? so far tryed one and say it gets that root device error message with this setup Features Key Features NVIDIA® SLI™ Technology Dramatically scales performance by allowing two graphics cards to be run in parallel.
