So i attempted to resize my second partition (D:) using partition magic 8.0... and I got an error (1518) so it halted the progress and aborted.

The problem I have now is, whenever I CUT and PASTE a file/folder from D: into another folder in D:... I can no longer access the file/folder; it says "Access Denied". If i cut and paste from D to C, C to D, C to C everything works fine, just D to D. Copy and paste works as well. And even tho it states that access is denied when I attempt to open the file/folder I can delete them without a problem.

Any input would be appreciated, I will probably end up formating but it would be nice to back up some of the data I can't access.

BTW I am using Windows XP Home edition.

Thanks

Here is the Partition Magic errors list (have you tried to find it?). But the 1518 error isn't there. I have read that the behaviour must be the same as in the error 1516. Try it.

Btw, if your D: partition has some bad sectors, you must delete it (do a backup of data before), reboot and create it again (this task can be made from the XP Disk administrator or from Partition Magic).
