USB AND FIREWIRE TROUBLE

Just got a new hackintosh! hurray

Everthing seems to be working fine:

 

2.4GHz AMD

2GB memory

 

10.5.2

 

but I cant get my USB or Firewire ports to recongise anything that is plugged into them.

but, it recognises my USB mouse and keyboard, but nothing else.

 

although, they are showing up in my system profiler.

any help!
