maciekish
Hi! I have a very strange problem. I have a Fujitsu Siemens LIFEBOOK P7230 with an Intel GMA945 graphics system. The installation goes fine without any artifacts etc but when the system boots, the following happens: 1) Gray apple-boot screen. 2) Flashes to black for a second. 3) Flashes to blue for a second. (My guess: framebuffer initialized?) 4) Flashes to black again. (My guess: tries to go to QE/CI mode and fails?) 5) Displays some nice colored vertical lines all over the screen. 6) Screen fades very slowly from black to white again and again with the previously mentioned lines still visible. Its a very nice animation indeed but i think I'd prefer the logon screen instead..... What i have tried: 1) All three in total video drivers available on iDeneb 1.3 and iAktos 10.5.5 releases. (reinstalls) 2) Graphics update on/off in iAktos 10.5.5 (reinstall) 3) AGPGART on/off in iAktos 10.5.5 (reinstall) 4) touching .AppleSetupDone to avoid the intro movie 5) passing "Graphics Mode"="1280x800x32@60" and "Graphics Mode"="1280x800x16@60" at boot time. So far, nothing i have tried has fixed it yet. Please help me! CharredPC
Only answer thus far: Keep trying. Hold down the power button until the laptop shuts off. Then turn it back on. Repeat this as needed until the normal screen finally appears. On some laptops, waiting until it is cooled helps. On mine, it only works warm, after 3-5 tries. Sorry, but as silly as it sounds, no one has solved (or even found the reason behind) this annoying issue yet.
