ALC889 on iDeneb Doesn't Work

I've tried all of these things and I cannot get it to work in Mac OS X, while it works perfectly in Windows:

• Selecting the fix in the iDeneb installer.
  
• Downloading various patched kexts.
  
• Attempting to patch the kexts using a linux codec dump and the AppleHDA patcher v1.20
  
• Multiple reinstalls.
  

Anyone have any ideas why it doesn't work at all? The HCL said the X38-DQ6 works with a patch - the X48-DQ6 and the X38-DQ6 are pretty much exactly the same - but gives no additional details about the patch.

 

EDIT: In System Profiler, every time I've done something, it will always say "No Built-in audio."
