shadow_keeper
Hi guys, long-time reader of the forum but decided to finally register to post a question since I bought me a new machine for the first time in 4 years over the holiday. Beauty laptop with the Turion X2 64, 4GB Ram, and 64-bit Vista installed. I'm impressed how Autocad 2009 64-bit performs on this unit, and will tinker with 3D Studio Max 2009 later tonight :-) I shrunk the drive partition down to give me about 90GB free to play with but having problems just booting the install DVD. I've tried Kalyway 10.5.2, 10.5.4, and Leo4Allv3 dvd's and all are identical in symptoms. When booting either of them, -v option will freeze up at a grey screen about 30 seconds into the boot. When booting with -v -x, or -v -x -F cpu=1, booting will continue longer and you'll see boatloads of stuff loading but will then freeze up at a black screen. Never once have I got to see the actuall Install GUI yet. Never see any errors pop-up on the screen before the screen text finally clears and freezes either. Any people ventured in new waters with these yet? Thanks, Larry Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139108-new-hp-dv7-1130us/ Share on other sites
BadWolf
I have the exact same laptop. It's insane fast, and I've been looking into finding a way to add osx86 on it (or Ubuntu) but I haven't found much info on the net. If I find anything, I"ll link you up. Cheers.
