ohgod123
So while trying to install iATKOS v2.0i (the only one i could find on isohunt), i created a new volume in windows and formatted and mounted it on Disk Utilities in the installation disk. when the installer was checking the integrity of the dvd i had burned, it said that it was dirty and so i cleaned it and it kept saying the same thing, so I was going to go to vista to re-burn the dvd, when it keeps saying "No operating system found" something like that and now it just says error loading OS. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT PLEASE, vista repair does not work Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/138835-i-messed-up/ Share on other sites
Kaelix
The last time this happened to me I had to completely reformat my HDD and reinstall Vista. This is what I did, go to install vista from the Vista disk, format the drive, possibly load the drivers for the HD from a seperate CD, and install vista. Hopefully you wont have to take that route. iCF-74 ToughMac
I was going to say it might be as easy as reflagging your Vista partition to boot. Also, being fairly new to this I like to keep a partition on the side with a cherry 10.5.5 just in case I really mess things up. At least from there I can reach into Vista etc if I have to. Kinda like a safe harbour when I blow everything else sky high. Glad you got back into Vista though. Clete2
The first two things I always do when I have boot problems are: (if I am using GRUB) 1) Boot Linux CD -> 'grub' and reinstall to MBR. 2) Boot GParted and check to see if the correct partition is selected as 'active'/'bootable'/'boot' (if I am using XP) 1) Boot XP CD -> Recovery -> "fixmbr" 2) Step 2 above. Clete2
I used to rely on an old Mandrake CD before GParted came out.... GParted is a life saver. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/138835-i-messed-up/#findComment-983622 Share on other sites
