DMP
Hi All, Newbie Question. I have an external USB HD, it is recognized by OSX but i cannot copy anything to it as i do not have permission etc. I have logged in with administrator rights, i have searched OSX help files and still no joy. I have tried selecting the folder, get info, sharing and permissions, but there are no options to change, it just tells me that it cannot be changed. I know it will be an easy fix, but i cannot work out how to change the permissions. please help. Thanks DMP Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/138808-how-to-change-permissions-to-access-external-hd/ Share on other sites
junkyarddiver
If it's formatted NTFS OS X will only read it, you have to format it with OS X or get something like Mac Fuse to let OS X write to it.
