x0prah_Winfr3yx
I honestly tried searching first, didn't plan on being flamed on my first forum post... I've setup everything as foretold here : here and here all the steps have been completed, i've copied and edited the chain0 file, now when i load (w/o dvd) both selections, Visa and OSX, lead me to Vista. Any ideas? Thanks. not sure if it matters, but here's my specs: ACER Aspire 5610Z Intel Dual 1.6 1.5 gb or RAM Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/138647-select-mac-osx-on-bootup-vista-loads/ Share on other sites
x0prah_Winfr3yx
Thanks for reading my posts, here’s my setup: 1. Recovery partition 2. Vista 3. MAC I’ve copied the chain0 file to HDD, copied the Windows Boot Log and renamed it MAC OSX through the bcdedit commands. I ran the command: bcdedit /set {GUID} PATH \chain0 and then checked the boot log again, but nothing had changed. QUESTION 1: If I’m not mistaken, this is supposed to point that particular boot towards the MAC OS? If I boot with the iAtkos DVD, type –s and point the Boot to point to my 3rd partition (where OS X is installed) and reboot, I’m given a list of which partition to load from. If I select my 3rd (labeled MAC) nothing happens, the screen refreshes. No commands work on this selection. If I select either the 1st (recovery) or 2nd (Vista), the command changes and says “Select a foreign OS”. Makes sense, and it will load those other partitions, just not the third. QUESTION 2: How do I get it to load from the 3rd? I did have OS X working; I just decided to try it again until I master the art. What am I doing wrong? I haven’t seemed to miss any steps, as I’ve ran the whole process eleven times in the last five days.
