Brummiesteven
Hi Everyone, I followed this tutorial to try and get my Mac sharing the net connection with the 360: The following procedure is confirmed to work as written.Start Internet Sharing if it’s not already running. In Terminal, type cp /etc/bootpd.plist /tmp/bootpd.plist Stop Internet Sharing. Open /tmp/bootpd.plist for editing using TextEdit or whatever. Locate this section of the file, near the end: reply_threshold_seconds 4 Change the value 4 to 0. In Terminal, type sudo cp /tmp/bootpd.plist /etc Start Internet Sharing. If you want to, check that your change to /etc/bootpd.plist hasn’t been reverted. My Xbox 360 can connect to the mac but not to the internet, claiming there is a DNS error. I'm pretty sure that this is a mac problem and not a 360 one, I have only just installed ethernet drivers. Originally, this was a screenshot of the Ethernet config: It says "Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect." so I changed it to manual config, giving it an IP Address which I know isn't currently assigned no my network: Yet... I still can't get past this DNS error on the 360. I have tried both Automatic and Manual (192.168.1.254) DNS settings on the Xbox. Any Suggestions?
