Icebreaker
Hi all! I need a new pc and would like to have a dual boot Windows and OSX and I wonder what components I should buy so that the OSX works best. I do alot of image processing, so I think I would like a dual core processor, but I wonder if an Intel is better than AMD for OSX? Would e.g. the Intel D805 work well? What kind of a motherboard should I buy....and can I use SATA hdd or is IDE better? I would like to have the OSX and XP on two seperated disks if that is possible. I have a Nvidia 5700le card from my old PC and I wonder if it is better to buy an ATI card, e.g. the same card that is used on the iMac? All advices are really appreciated and I love the work you geniuses have done! Icebreaker
I have now done much searching and found that the safest way is to buy the following: 945GNTLKR Motherboard Hitachi T7K250 (SATA II) And a socket 775 processor This motherboard has integrated graphics card, but I need more power, since I would like to use Aperture. The recommended graphics cards are: ATI Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition ATI Radeon 9800 XT or 9800 Pro NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL or 6800 GT DDL NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT Is any of these supported? I´m on a budget, so I prefer the cheapest possible.
