I'm trying to get OSX86 back on my laptop, following the same old guide I always do, I can't seem to get it to go.

I'm litterally stuck to the point I can't even boot the CD, within like 2 seconds of pressing enter to boot the CD, I get about 20 lines and then this:

IOAPIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 0:23

I have used this CD on this machine before but now it wont work. I also reburned it, and tried to burn kalyway 10.5.2

BTW, the cd was Kalyway 10.5.1

Any one who can shed some light as to why it suddenly doesnt work anymore would be appreciated, THANKS!

sounds like the same thing i have on my laptop. it's an acpi issue apparently and the way around it is to press the power button again once it halts at that message. i've also found using the tag "idlehalt=0" works too but i'd recommend the power button method.

hope this works for you too,

Marc

sorry mate, that's all i've got. only other thing would be if you've changed any bios settings? possibly acpi related? turning off speed stepping in the bios was a fix i could never try because my bios doesn't support it but give it a go. other than that i'm sorry but i can't help you.

Much appreciated anyways. I've been through the bios to many times and I can't seem to get it. However, I'll just sit tight and wait for further assisstance...

Thanks anyways ;)

Sorry, forgot to mention, after some BIOS tweaking I can get past that frozen line, only to have it freeze at the next line right after.

Extension “com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC PlatformPlugin” has immediate dependencies on both com.appke.kernel and com.apple.kpi components: ues only one style.

Any further ideas ?
