Plagued with EBIOS errors using boot-132 method

Hi everybody.

 

I'll admit, I'm a hackint0sh newbie, however I did spend a considerable amount of time reading through this forum (and others) and could not find an answer to my problem.

 

I downloaded a boot-132 made specifically for my motherboard (GA-P35-DS3L), booted from it. after I change discs to the retail OS X disc, it starts loading darwin, then says:

 

EBIOS read error: Error 0x32

Block 16432736 Sectors 64

 

Now, I've burned the retail disc numerous times using many different methods (as suggested by users in other forums), and I can now confirm that I'm positively sure there's nothing wrong with the disc. I even ripped it back to the HD and compared it with the .iso file bit-to-bit - everything is kosher.

 

the .iso file is a HOTiSO release of the retail 10.5.4 - .dmg converted ON A MAC using Disk Utility to .iso.

(I also tried UltraISO, MagicISO, Mactrans, you name it!)

 

Point is, I don't think there's anything wrong with the disc. I'm booting from an IDE DVD-ROM drive (an Optiarc one). My hard drives are on SATA, as well as another DVD drive (aside from the one I'm booting from).

 

I am completely stumped! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

From reading throught the forums, I can't believe so many people have this problem and the cause of this is still unknown! the most common advise I saw was "reburn the disc", but that usually didn't help the users who were complaining about it.

Using disk utility, restore the .dmg image (retail 10.5.4) to a Pendrive or a Partition of your HD (both Pendrive and HD need to be in Mac OS Extended partition)

 

I've got this problem here too.

There is one solution, however.

There's a tutorial around the forum teaching how to reduce the size of the retail DVD to a Single Layer DVD, also how to make it install in a MBR partitioned HD. I did it and now I have a Retail 10.5.4 Single Layer DVD working with MBR partitioned HD.
