naquaada
I have a problem with Quicktime versions since 7.5 and higher. I'm now using QT 7.4.5 and it's everything OK. But if I'm installing version 7.5.0 or 7.5.5 on my test system the computer needs for a simple DivX movie about 90% CPU on an Athlon 64 4000+ and about 40-50% (per cpu) on my Opteron 185 DualCore @ 2,9 GHz. The videos are totally stuttering, of course. Why is this so slow? I'm still using 10.5.3 because I don't have time to install a new system and I didn't found a good 10.5.5 AMD image yet. My gfx card is an X1600Pro, it's fully supported and has an Xbench score of 220. Trying the 9.5.0 beta2c kernel didn't bring any effect. I never had dual-core stuttering problems or something else, all other programs are running fine. What could this be?
