Hello everyone. Im trying to install Kalyway 10.5.2 on my Dell Latitude D505, but when it comes to the installation screen, its just grayscale. I went to the BIOS to make the VRAM 8mb's, but there is nothing about it there. Do I need to update this BIOS maybe? It is A07 BIOS, and the latest is A11. If so, any way I can install it without installing Windows on the computer? Any help appreciated! - Opes

I saw the 8mb option in Bios versions A10 and A11. I recall that the A11 upgrade was a Windows executable, so you will likely need Windows installed first.

Some pointers in installing Kalyway 10.5.2, enable the SSE2 option and the iwi2200beta drivers(if you have the intel2200 wifi card installed) during installation. After installation, you will need to chmod 0755 the iwi2200.kext directory to enable the wifi. I haven't managed to get WEP to work(even with the latest iwidarwin drivers), but unsecured WIFI is okay.

Okay. Can I use PartPE? I have A11.exe on a flash drive :o.

No idea. I installed A11 from WinXp sp3. Since it's BIOS flashing, you might not want to take the chance with BartPE.

BTW, I've place my installation steps for the D505 in the 10.5.2 compatibility wiki.

Okay, thank you very much, will help me alot :) ! I installed Windows XP, and installed the update. Changed vram to 8mb. Im currently installing Kalyway 10.5.2.

Okay, I installed Kalyway 10.5.2, and Im getting this error:

Nov 27 12:27:08 localhost ReportCrash[120]: Saved crashreport to /Library/Logs&/rashReporter/socketfilterfw_2008-11-27-122908_localhost.crash using uid: 0,gid: 0, euid: 0, egid: 0

Nov 27 12:29:03 localhost mds[19]: (Error) Server: mdsync launch failed: (ipc/send) invalid destination port

Over and over again. Anyone knows how to get it working? I have tried: -x -v cpus=1, any idea?
