Andrey
All right, I give up! I've spent the last five hours reading every post and article I could on Slipstreaming and patching, etc. and I *still* have no reasonable clue how to patch the Installer for the Myzar ISO with Zappadoc's or even Scousi's ATI SB400 IDE drivers. I'm currently running 10.4.3 JaS 4.2b, and I'd like to make a smooth transition to 10.4.5 without succumbing to 2 hours of PIO-install-hell. I've researched all the major patches' methods of install by JaS, Maxxuss, bender, and the like, but I can't get the modified ATA kext with the support I need slotted into the 10.4.5 Installer DVD. I've tried Pacifist, System Image Utility - everything I could think of! I'd appreciate any insight on the subject! And while I'd rather participate in the engineering of a fix, I wouldn't mind terribly being spoon-fed a .ppf patch for the install DVD similar to the JaS 10.4.3 version. Thanks in advance! [Also feel free *not* to point out that for about half the time I spent on this I could've just installed using the GenericATA driver - really no need to bring that up ] Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13808-wishlist-10445-bootable-myzariso-w-atiixp-sb400-support/ Share on other sites
Andrey
Update: Fixed! To circumvent the woefully slow AppleGenericATA driver, I put my target drive into my USB enclosure and installed 10.4.5 to it flawlessly in just under 30 minutes. It would have taken near 2 hours via IDE. The system is up and running solidly now, and I've since applied Zappadoc's ATA fix successfully in IOATAFamily Plugins.
