poo-ping-tyme
Hi I'm new here. I am have a problem with my PowerBook G4 Al 15" 1.33ghz battery not charging!!! I recently bought this powerbook on ebay. it's in perfect working condition and the battery was new when I bought the PowerBook(1-2 months ago)(total 89 charge cycles). it came with panther on it. and was working amazingly!!! but I upgraded to leopard and it was amazing, until about a day or two ago when it said in the battery icon "battery is not charging". I have done all the hardware resets, deleted the com.apple.PowerManagement.plist from /library/preferences/systemconfiguration/ I was have absolutely no problems until the leopard install and update!!!! so it shouldn't be hardware issues, and a lot of people have been having trouble with leopard and their batteries. here is my power info: _______________________________ Charge Information: Charge remaining (mAh): 5 Charging: No Full charge capacity (mAh): 4051 Health Information: Cycle count: 89 Battery Installed: Yes Amperage (mA): 0 Voltage (mV): 10864 System Power Settings: AC Power: System Sleep Timer (Minutes): 10 Disk Sleep Timer (Minutes): 10 Display Sleep Timer (Minutes): 10 Dynamic Power Step: Yes Reduce Processor Speed: No Automatic Restart On Power Loss: No Wake On AC Change: No Wake On Clamshell Open: Yes Wake On LAN: Yes Wake On Modem Ring: Yes Display Sleep Uses Dim: Yes Battery Power: System Sleep Timer (Minutes): 10 Disk Sleep Timer (Minutes): 10 Display Sleep Timer (Minutes): 2 Dynamic Power Step: Yes Reduce Processor Speed: No Automatic Restart On Power Loss: No Wake On AC Change: No Wake On Clamshell Open: Yes Wake On Modem Ring: No Display Sleep Uses Dim: Yes Reduce Brightness: Yes Hardware Configuration: Clamshell Closed: No UPS Installed: No AC Charger Information: AC Charger (Watts): 0 Connected: Yes Charging: No _____________________________ it was working perfectly until I updated my computer to 10.5.5 please help asap!!!! Wrenbird
Since you actually own a real mac, contacting Apple would be your best bet, next to checking Apple's support website. Odds are, though, if a lot of people are having battery issues with Leopard, that Apple is working on an update to fix it. poo-ping-tyme
Since you actually own a real mac, contacting Apple would be your best bet, next to checking Apple's support website. Odds are, though, if a lot of people are having battery issues with Leopard, that Apple is working on an update to fix it. recently I have checked a lot of forums about this problem. on some(including apple's forum) people have took their mac into a store or have called them, and apple claims it's not leopard. kinda strange considering that all these people(including me) have had no problem until leopard. don't get me wrong, I recently switched from a PC, and leopard is so much better then xp/vista, except the charging issue. I'm fearing im going to go out and I have to buy a new charger/battery, and I don't have that kinda money right now. EDIT: also My plug that goes into my powerbook isn't lighting up any color and my battery lights are not lighting up.
