Mac Chris in Fl
I just installed 10.4.3, overwrote the 10.4.1 (on purpose) and now when it boots, i get a missing operating system. Put the DVD in, can boot to the OS X, but my USB mouse only will go in the corner. Two questions: 1. How can I get my mouse to work 2. How can i get my XP back and dual boot? Thanks for your help! theSpam
1) OS X doesn't like PS/2 / USB mous/keyboard combinations. So either have a PS/2 mouse and PS/2 keyboard or an USB mouse and an USB keyboard. 2) Try the chain0 thing everyone is using. Search around here. Mac Chris in Fl
I had the chain0 on there before the reinstall, but I can't even boot into Windows now (get OS missing error). Mac Chris in Fl
After tinkering, I put PS2 keyboards and mice on and got OS X to load (using the DVD). Now, how can I reset the partitions to make the Win XP the active one? I would like to be able to not have to use the DVD and to be able to use the Windows partition as needed (proprietary software unfortunately). Thanks for all of your time and suggestions, Chris Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13804-1043-post-installation-problem/#findComment-87962 Share on other sites
Mac Chris in Fl
I've tried everything I can think of, I can see the windows partition, OS X is running great, just can't use the dual boot and get back into windows. Has anyone else had this problem before? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13804-1043-post-installation-problem/#findComment-89531 Share on other sites
