DrivinWest
I'm looking to build my first MacIntel/x86 OS X/whatever. What I'd really like is a sleek, small-form factor desktop tower and it would seem that the ASUS Pundit-PH3 based on the i915G would be a good candidate. Indeed, this mention of the Pundit-PH3 appears to be a rave review. So I'm looking for other Pundit-PH3 users. What CPU are you using? Memory? Which OS X torrent did you use? Issues? Solutions? It's my hunch that this barebones setup will be THE affordable small form-factor x86 OS X so let's start sharing info here. I'm off to buy and build the unit tomorrow so I'll be back here regularly with updates. onixwj
I'm working with the Pundit-PE3, which also deserves consideration. Basically, it's Intel 915G vs. 915GL chipsets, DDR & DDR2 vs. just DDR, card readers vs. none, and maybe a difference in the PCIe slots. The Intel chart I cited makes it sound as if the PH3's 915G chipset does not work with Celeron D processors as the PE3's 915GL chipset does. I just installed 10.4.6 on the PE3 with zero hassle. I'll update the wiki with relevant information in coming days.
