Rawox
Well, hi! I don't know if this is not the right topic but I'm hopeless (and new)! I'm searching forums like thisone for weeks to find a solution for installing Mac on my Personal Computer. I have a Asus A6[Rp]. I already downloaded iATKOS in a torrent. it was version 4, burned it on DVD-R at 4x writing speed. But when I booted into the CD it started. It showed up a grey screen with the apple logo and a loader. After a few minutes there also came up a mouse thingy or something. I searched Google and some different forums for an answer but couldn't find it. Now I'm downloading iDeneb and going to try this... any other ideas you have guys? Larry Wang
iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 is good try. Good luck. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137581-iatkos-ideneb/#findComment-973826 Share on other sites
Synaesthesia
Also try booting with -v from the DVD and looking at what the error is. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137581-iatkos-ideneb/#findComment-973833 Share on other sites
Rawox
Ok well,, iDeneb finished downloading and burned it on CD with MagicISO on lowest writing speed but it doesn't boot. And YES I have the right BIOS Settings... and I'm using DVD-R. Also Checked MD5 Checksum but it's correct. any Ideas? EDIT: Ok... wierd! If I open it in Windows Explorer it doesn't sees any files (I can see hidden files) And If I try to burn it it says 'Disk is not Empty' Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137581-iatkos-ideneb/#findComment-974165 Share on other sites
Khiron
EDIT: Ok... wierd! If I open it in Windows Explorer it doesn't sees any files (I can see hidden files) And If I try to burn it it says 'Disk is not Empty' that's perfectly normal. Remember that OS X uses a complete different file system (HFS+) which windows cannot recognize, that's why you see it empty like that. If anything you should only see the boot files, which are really small. Rawox
Ok... But why doesn't it boot?? Do you have any solutions? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137581-iatkos-ideneb/#findComment-974177 Share on other sites
Khiron
it's weird, you should at least be able to boot with it. You don't even see an attempt to boot from it? Try checking with MagicISO if the DVD image is actually bootable, perhaps the copy isn't valid or something. Btw, did you happen to download one of those that have extra applications on it? The image I downloaded of iDeneb 1.3 came with extra stuff which I had to "separate" from the image, as the ISO wasn't the only thing included in the package. Rawox
No, it's just an ISO with only the needed files on it and a rtf file with the MD5 Checksum Do you know any software to make bootable CD's with because when I try to make bootable CD with MagicISO it says that the file is to big Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137581-iatkos-ideneb/#findComment-974188 Share on other sites
Khiron
oh, no no no, the boot files should already come with the image you have, I was just suggesting to open the image on MagicISO and check if MagicISO recognizes it as a bootable image, cause if it doesn't it means you simply cannot boot from it, and the ISO you downloaded is just ... well, somewhat useless without 'em. There're ways to make bootable images attaching the boot files to them, but the hazel you'd have to go through would be a lot more complicated than downloading an image that is really bootable. EDIT: The image I'm attaching are the contents of the iDeneb DVD seen from Windows. Notice how they all are bootable files. These are the files that *should* be on the DVD if it is bootable. Rawox
Huh! I first downloaded a ISO file with iATKOS v4 on it. I burned the iso on a DVD and booted in it. but it doesn't supports on of my cards.. So I downloaded iDeneb and burned it but nothing happends... EDIT: Would it maybe work if i burn the files on the CD (extracted from the ISO)?? EDIT2: Ow, Just saw you're attachment and I don't have those files Image: Still uploading Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137581-iatkos-ideneb/#findComment-974195 Share on other sites
Khiron
no, cause then the booting files wouldn't be added, unless you specifically find the boot image and appoint it as such. It is getting complicated, are you sure you downloaded the correct image? I'd suggest to perhaps download another copy of iDeneb, if it isn't much of an issue to re-download the whole thing. Khiron
Well, it says right there it isn't bootable, that's the reason why it's not working. We cannot share links in the forums btw. Rawox
Ok.. well I tried both to install again used -v command to view the errors: iATKOS: Extension "com.apple.driver.iTunesPhoneDriver" Has no explicit Kernel depends using version 6.0 Still waiting for root device. iDeneb: IOPCCardBridge:: start failed RTL8139::FixEnetFlowControl - Flow Control is disabled Still waiting for root device. MadGhost
Hello, I'm not native english and you can imagine the quest... I've tried 10 times with iATKOS v4i witch is a very good version. It's 10.5.4 but more safe for me at install. iDeneb is a great compil of kext. So on iATKOS... first attempt: patitionning disk in MBR and don't choose stock ACPIplatform nor vanilla kernel try ToH instead You can also try with Darwin x86 for MBR(without EFI) or GUID(set SATA in bios to AHCI or "Non-combined"); stock files and essential press F8 at Darwin boot for setting flags like (Safe boot) -x; (Verbose) -v; (Reload all drivers) -f good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137581-iatkos-ideneb/#findComment-974502 Share on other sites
Rawox
Well... I couldn't really sleep well :$ Ok... I do now get the second step but still not the first one :$. Well, I will try the second one tomorrow (And I don't want to dual boot) I want to have this done... Could you please give me some more detailed explanation I'm new at this... so please tell me how to do such things. Bye... Khiron
sorry you had to gave up, personally I haven't been able to get any help from here either, so I don't blame you. Anyway, for what I can see perhaps it's just the AHCI which wasn't enabled in your bios (like FreeMDn1979 suggested). Maybe for next time you can try that out. Good luck next time.
