puckslinger Posted April 1, 2006 Share Posted April 1, 2006 Hello, I recently made reformated one of my 250gig drives in windows and created a FAT32 partition in windows and now i cant boot OSX or re-install 10.4.5 havnt tested 3 yet, in either native or VM. would this FAT32 part. have anything to do with not being able to boot? I havnt done anything to OSX before this change. im wondering if the FAT32 is even the issue. I can get to the little gray circle bar loading icon thing under the apple logo when i boot or install then it just does that for as long as i have it up. Any ideas? miliuco Posted April 1, 2006 Share Posted April 1, 2006 Are you installing OsX into the FAT32 partition? (I don't think so because I think it's not allowed). Or... are you having trouble with the OsX installation since you created a FAT32 partition in that disk? declan Posted April 1, 2006 Share Posted April 1, 2006 I know os x can read and write on a fat32 partition but i believe that it has to be the first partition to be able to install on. Try booting with -v option, gives you a clearer idea of whats going on.
