Nagoshi
You know, Ive got that old laptop eating dust. Compaq Evo N620C. Pentium M 1.4GHz, 256Mb RAM, Radeon Mobility 7500 32Mb. Ouch . Doing. Nothing. Putting Mac OS X could give it a new life. It'd be... pretty... again Except it's only got a CD drive. I thought about using my other laptop (HP DV6245CA), takign my external HDD, install OS X on it, then either just run OS X from my external HDD on the old laptop, or copy the whole partition to the old laptop. My question is - is there a way to install OS X with CDs instead of a DVD, or can we install OS X on an external HDD and ''use it on 2 computers'' to configure it? Cause Im wondering if it installs like Windows, by looking at which drivers to install, or if it installs them all, so that I can install it on my EHD using a laptop and put it on another laptop. Thanks for any answers! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137038-non-dvd-alternative/ Share on other sites
gnuga
well thers a usb HDD trick, but then again, how cheap a DVD rom is ? i guess it wont hurt you that much pairing an extrenal DVDROM / RW or even upgrading the internal ODD to DVD? that would ease your experience i guess ...
