Creating A Bootable Patched Installer Dvd

Ok, I have all the files and tools needed. Except one thing: I'm trying this on my Mac.

 

Now, I can patch the disc image, but when I burn it, it's not bootable...

 

So.... Now I'm going to try installing Ubuntu Linux in Virtual PC 6 to see if I can patch it from within there... Funny, I don't even have a PC to run this on, I just want to see if it will work!

 

Any real Mac users able to hack the installer DVD and burn it to be bootable? I've searched the forums with little luck...

Of course, as soon as I post a message about my problem, which I've been searching for the solution for on this forum for days, I FIND IT here:

Ugh!

 

The secret is to mount the image using

 

hdiutil mount -readwrite

 

Then you can modify the image CAREFULLY, and unmount it. Burn, and it works!
