endrien
Well I have a compaq presario Pc with 3gb's of ram 360gb HD 8600gt GFX card and a Intel pentium dual core E2200 Cpu and I wan't to install Leopard on it. Currently I have iAtkos on a bootable dvd and I partioned my HD with Acronis Disk Director Suite and made a 80gb Fat32 partition. When I load up iAtkos from the boot Dvd Everything works fine untill I get to the part where you choose what to install it on. And also for some reason my keyboard won't work when I'm in the mac installer? Anyway when I open disk utility to mount the partion it won't work, so I format it and it appears to format, but When I try to mount it fails. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks ~Endrien Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/136978-no-hard-drives-show-up-on-list/ Share on other sites

Nagoshi
I remember having a similar issue when I installed it on my Asus G1-AK024C and on my friend's Toshiba, but I cant remember why. Mind you I was installing OSX on a USB hard drive both times. I cannot, for the sake of it, remember how did I solve that issue. I think it went away after a few shots, but I also think it was a bad DVD. I used GParted Live CD to partition, but I cannot again remember in which format I wiped the disk. It was either FAT32 or unpartitioned, so that I could shape it the way I wanted in OSX. endrien
Thanks for the reply, I'll try Gparted Live CD and I'll try burning my Dvd at a slower rate! Nagoshi
I think I remember now (as I just successfully installed it on my laptop). iATKOS doesnt mount the drives when you run the installer. You have to go in the Diskutil thing in the taskbar to mount and format them. Then you can mount them (by right-clicking the partition you want to mount, then "Mount"), and partition/format your system from there. At least, in my case, it worked. You should format the drive youre gonna install it on, to OS X Extended (Journaled) or something like that. Use Diskutil to do it, GParted and other softwares wont do it. Installing on FAT32 does not work, or may not. At least in your case it doesnt seem to work ^^ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/136978-no-hard-drives-show-up-on-list/#findComment-970733 Share on other sites
