gregmurray99
Well my friend just finished installing iDeneb 10.5.5 on his Inspiron 1521 so I can probably tell you what he used... - Use Speedstep as your kernel, though he didn't experiment with any others so you might have better luck with ones like Sleep. - Don't select any graphics drivers. Unfortunately that model uses shared video memory so it may be along time before proper drivers are created to enable QE/CI - Also, don't select any audio drivers. There is a way to get choppy sound on your laptop, which can actually sound pretty good if you move the mouse really fast while your listening, but I have found no other way to get audio on it. - For Chipset I'd suggest you try installing them all and see what happens, cause when we only installed the ones we thought it needed and now his DVD drive doesn't work. - WiFi worked out of the box, though I think the ethernet port may need a driver... I can't seem to remember. - Make sure you select the AMD patch! Or it won't boot... - Choose whatever third-party applications interest you. iPhoto, Adium, and OSX86 Tools are usually the only ones I go with, but feel free to install them all. - There may be some other laptop specific things like PowerManagementBundle that you should install. - If theres a TimeMachineFix, you should take it; though you can always fix things like that once you have successfully installed Leopard. All in all when we finally installed it there were quite a few things missing... No Sound, and no video drivers (You won't be playing any games or using any fancy screensavers.) Also, for some reason the operating system won't boot unless the laptop is plugged in, though that can probably be fixed. We also tried Kalyway 10.5.2 and with it the DVD drive worked and it did boot on battery power, though it took almost 10 minutes to boot! Let me know how it goes and if you run into trouble I can probably help. I know it can be done on that laptop so it is possible...
