Johnston411
I've got ideneb 10.5.5 running on my advent 4213 and since swapping out the wifi card everything is working perfectly. My only problem is i'm having to dual boot it as the hardware (wifi, bt, 3gmodem, webcam etc.) cannot be turned on once osx has booted. You have to enable them in xp or ubuntu then restart and then they will be on in osx. They just won't work from turning the netbook on from cold. The wifi interestingly enough is recognised but you cannot turn it on by clicking airport on. Is there anything that would enable them while booting so that i can run just osx and not have to dual boot? For anyone with an advent 4213 the install is the same as for the 4211 or msi wind. The only difference is that instead of kalyway you must use ideneb as it's the only one that will install. A good guide can be found at modaco here and some good discussion about it at 4winmobile here I'd be really greatful for any help with this and will write up a full tutorial if i can get it sorted (single, dual and triple boot) Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/136548-ideneb-on-advent-4213-everything-works-once-youve-swapped-out-the-wifi-card-but/ Share on other sites

joefish
Bump! I am looking buying the Advent 4213 (with a view to running OS X most if not all of the time) and sleep is an essential function for me, ideally quick and easy - activated by shutting the lid. I could live with choosing sleep from a menu item of course Also someone mentioned having to boot into Windoze or Ubuntu to activate the hardware (e.g. Wifi) before switching to OS X - ie from a cold start. Can anyone confirm/deny? Can anyone confirm/deny? Hi Joefish, I've managed to get OS X running fine on my Advent 4213, except the headphones and mic input. Initially the bluetooth and modem weren't recognised, so I booted a ubuntu live cd, turned them on (with the Fn+Esc and Fn+F3) ubuntu then saw them, rebooted into OSx and it all worked. I've been trying to get the headphone jack working, but i've not succeeded yet! I haven't sorted sleep out yet either, but it's on the to-do list!
