it1294
Hi i am a kind of noob to this whole project but i understand the basics. I have download iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 and tried booting it up and when i try to start the installation is gives me a error with the plist... I tried it a couple of times but i think it just happens because the file were corrupt. Well to get to the point i still want to install OSX onto my system and i know how to but I don't know which kernels, video drives, etc i should pick for my system. My computer info: Processor- Intel Core 2 T7200 RAM-2GB HD-150GB Video Card- Nvidia GeForce Go 7300 OS-Vista (i am going to install OSX into another partion) Also i am pretty sure that if i want to be able to update from the Apple Update program i would need a vanilla extract. If someone could explain to me how to do that and if i can if i need to download anything else after. THANK YOU...sorry for bad english. NYC Coyote
Sounds like we have pretty close to the same system. I used the kalyway 10.5.2 disc, then the kalyway 10.5.3 updater....then a regular update from apple to 10.5.4...then I installed the dell laptop post installer which has a safe update kext...then updated to 10.5.5. I'm sure there are other methods now without all the updates...built in...but this worked for me perfectly. Only things not working for me are the broadcom ethernet (which a lot of people are having problems with) and the line-in. The links are in my signature. it1294
So if i understand you correcty i should download the Kalyway 10.5.2 Disc and then once installed use the 10.5.3 updater.. then from there use the apple updater to get 10.5.4. and then from there use the post installers safe update kext to update to 10.5.5 Thank You Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/136451-dell-e1505-installation-advice/#findComment-966257 Share on other sites
NYC Coyote
Yep....that's what I did and all is working. There must be an easier method at this point....but my system has been super stable since 10.5.2 and it is my disc of choice now. Word of note....I am still using the bootloader that came with 10.5.2. There are others out there now (DFE, Chameleon) but until this things breaks down I'm just going to use it the way it is. Why fix it if it ain't broke. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/136451-dell-e1505-installation-advice/#findComment-969134 Share on other sites
